Application

The School is addressed to 40 PhD students and young scientists from all over the world. However, attendance is open through remote access to the broader audience of researchers and professionals in structural fire engineering. The registration fee is 350€ (VAT included) for both options. Lectures will take place in the enchanting setting of Villa del Grumello in Como, Italy, with live sessions accessible to remote attendees via the Zoom platform.

Students participating in the School can earn 5 ECTS credits with a modality to be agreed upon with the home doctoral school.

HOW TO APPLY: Prospective participants are asked to fill out and submit the form below. Those who wish to participate in person are also required to upload a short motivation letter (pdf)

SELECTION CRITERIA: the Organizing Committee will consider the coherence of the motivation with the aim and scope of the school, the potential benefit for the student’s research, and the timeliness for the development of the student’s career.

SHORT TALKS & POSTERS: Participants attending the School in person will have the opportunity to give a short talk and/or exhibit a poster to share and discuss their current research activity

    Requirements

    In addition to applicant quality, the Organizing Committee will consider a number of features including: the coherence of the motivation with the aim and scope of the school, the potential benefit for the student’s research, the timeliness for the development of the student’s career. Preference will be given to applicants not participating onsite in the previous edition (2022) of the school.

    The school is especially addressed to doctoral students and young postdoctoral scholars. A very limited number of senior students (e.g., assistant/associate/full professors) can be admitted, if they provide strong and convincing motivation in their application letter.
